Value City is really a mixed bag with important advantages and disadvantages.

Value City is really a mixed bag with important advantages and disadvantages.I'll start with the good. They have an excellent selection of furniture, all you could see and experience in person at their showrooms. It is very important to me, as a Research impressive furniture in an online retailer might not be very comfortable, after all once it arrives. Also very importantly, their furnishings are relatively affordable. You get a much better choice than American Freight, furniture tend to be better built and more comfortable than Ikea, and the prices are much lower than some of the other major furniture retailers.

That said, it is important to keep in mind that it's still a discount furniture store. The large leather sectional sofa I bought them 1.5 years ago is still in good shape, although one of the sections was disjointed and had to be sent immediately. Fortunately the replacement was very resistant. If you are looking for quality furniture heritage to pass on to your children and grandchildren, I doubt Value City is the right choice for you. Personally, I have a young child and two dogs, so I'm quite okay with a sofa that will last me 10 years at a discount price. I do not want to buy only one La-Z Boy recliner $ 1,000 to have my daughter milk spill everywhere.

Looking at the negatives, the quality of the furniture is to be noted that not exceptional. As I said, I had to send some of my back cut leather because of the poor quality of construction. Their delivery service is risky typical. I bought a bed, dresser and two reclining seat them last week and the delivery guy showed right on time six days later. Unfortunately, the chair was damaged in transit and I had to send it back. I had similar problems with other furniture stores and home appliance stores like Lowe's and Home Depot, so it is more revealing of the American poor delivery system that specifically Value City.

Where Value City fails spectacular is the after-sales service in case of problems. Their problem is that you get the run around. You call the store you purchased your product from and they tell you that you need to speak to the distribution center because the showroom does not address delivery problems. Call the distribution center and not answered, and they do not have voice mail. You finally get hold of someone at the distribution center and they tell you to call the showroom again because your furniture is shipped directly from the showroom and not the distribution center . You call back the showroom and they tell you that you need to speak with a manager.

You speak with the manager and he told you to go back into the store to talk in person with your original sales guy. You drive back into the showroom and the type of sales is too busy with a client so you get kicked to the manager. The manager takes care of your problem, get a new set of sofa to be delivered, and promises to call you later that day with the new delivery date. He never calls. So you call the next morning and they tell you the manager is out of the office until noon. And here I am, waiting until noon in the hope of whether the replacement of the sofa which was damaged during transport can be delivered to me as I still have free time during the holidays. So basically Value City is a good value as you set your expectations appropriately. It could even be a great experience if everything goes well. If something goes wrong, expect a lot of pain trying to get things sorted.

I am very pleased with our purchase today at Value City. My family recommended the store to me for my new home. We had our 3 bed rooms at a great price. It will really bring out the living room once it's put there in a few weeks.

I also bought the kitchen table and waiting to buy the dining room table. I was very happy with the marble table and I bought does not mind putting a deposit to hold until the date of my move.

I can not wait for delivery in a few weeks to really see how things will turn out. We guarantee the couch just in case something happens to the couch. I think it was a good deal and I am very happy with our experience here today and the sales guy who sold us all, it was very pleasant to work with and there was no high sale here pressure.

You know what, my experience shopping at Value City was quite simple, and I give them 4 stars (4 = "Yay I'm a fan!")

My husband and I went to the site of the Crossroads Bailey on a Friday after work around 18 hours. We hoped it would be low traffic at that hour on a Friday and we were right. Many sales people who were helpful but were happy to give us space to sit on the furniture without trying to talk to us in some designs or colors.

We needed something for our stay in our new house is a room that has a TV and probably will not be the same use as the furniture in the den that has the TV. So we were OK to go with a set of furniture in the economy because we do not think we'll actually sitting on it that often, plus we have a dog, two cats and a baby on the way. We did not want to invest thousands of dollars in a sofa and love seat that will probably be barfed, pee or spilled on numerous occasions in the next 5 years.

We knew what we were in the market (sofa and love seat, nothing extraordinary, not leather) and agreed on all upholstered Jasmine. Our salesman was very pleasant and once we told him that we selected, he placed the order. I tried to negotiate the shipping cost, but no dice ... probably more a reflection of my negotiating skills.

We put the furniture to be delivered on a specific day and they were there very early to deliver just in time. Furniture looks exactly as expected and there was no damage or problem he brought into the house. The furniture is comfortable satisfactory. No complaint (and this is coming from a pregnant woman!)

First, I must say that I fear purchases of any kind. Furniture stores can be torturer by taking up all your energy and time. It's spring time with all the cleaning and preparation for the summer, my living room needs a face lift. Weekend ads arrived on Saturday night and I really spot a good deal on a sofa and two-piece combination of love-seat to Value City. My plans were to get there when it first opens. It did not, was there around 12: 30-1 pm.

I walk though the doors made a comeback and was immediately approached by Emanuel. The bright optimistic "Good Morning" to "How can I help you today," Mr. Emanuel was impressive. I showed her the ad and it will lead us to the area where it was established. The gray love seats light hung on the wall, but he assured us the two sectional red piece was the same feeling. He was helpful with the selection of colors that makes a different question, color of the walls of the room, which is my style of dress and etc..I choose to get it in chocolate as my wall color is hunter green . He went over the collateral tissue seven years in detail.

Funny, the announcement that I had with me not start until Tuesday, but they honored it anyway.
I was in and out in less than ten minutes. The furniture should be delivered until Saturday. The best shopping experience of my life.

I was pleasantly surprised! After reading the reviews, I expected the worst customer service. I came in knowing exactly what I wanted to look. I was greeted immediately and asked that gentleman if he was working with someone now, he politely he said.

I took another ten steps and was received again. Same question was proposed, but it was not actually help anyone; Big Mike is my type.I showed Mike SKU # of the item I wanted to see.

I bought my father a reclining as a Christmas present and a two chosen. Mike quickly locate the seat, I looked at it, sit on it, put it and enjoyed it. I told him I would take it.Mike explained guarantee, I accepted and valued in a few minutes. It does not get any easier than that!I found the store to be clean, well organized and had a great selection.

The sellers were well dressed and very polite. Finally, this shop is not in a great area. Walking through the door, looking to buy something you can be treated differently than someone, for example, who walks start your cell phone, take off on one of the couches and make a phone call.

Honestly, looked at a handful of people lying around on the furniture on the phone as if they were at home. Perhaps these are some of the bad reviewers who claim to have received poor customer service. If you enter the parking lot looking for Furniture City Value, front facing the entrance to the side of Lowes. There is a sign on the side of the building facing Rt. 40, which can be misleading. It is a single port under the sign, but it is locked and you can not access the store.

Your only option here is the steep set of stairs to the door.I went back to pick-up a few days later and was completely satisfied. To the front door of the left you will roll style door to pick up your purchase if you do not have it delivered. Open the door and show them your receipt. I waited patiently with a handful of others as they bring your items out. I was in and out in ten minutes.Keep up the good work VCF!

Value City Furniture - Leather recliner sectional peeling......leather alomst gone!

First, let me start off by adding that we had a leather couch for almost 8 years before this new purchase. We decided to upgrade to a Recliner section with Chaise and went to both Art Van and Value City. After reviewing both sectionals, we decided to go with Value City because the sofa seemed of the same quality, but at a slightly better price.

The sales man said the section was an excellent selection, great material, and a popular seller. We declined the warrenty after many questions because we were lead to believe that the leather was robust material and any problems, "If any man," would be a structural wear and tear.

Well, fast forward to almost 3 years later, and the structure fell apart in one seat, the fixing is particularly on the V connecting seat, and the leather is almost completely disappeared in the lower back of a chair.I even bought the *** furniture cleaner, which did nothing to preserve the leather. This place is a farce. They sell nice looking furniture .... but most of it is poor quality. They are encouraged to get their warrenty, but it does not matter anyway, because trying to get them to replace of fix something is a joke!I bought a bed from them for a long time and it came defective.

The kids could not even install it and had to return, but that is a whole other story. The sad part is I have a friend who worked in the Westland, MI store and she told me to stay away.Moral of this story ... you get what you pay for (cheap), and with Value City Furniture you will not even get that!

Value City Furniture - Review from Buchanan, Michigan

I bought a beautiful 5 piece "leather" section there about 3 years ago.I had saved up for a long time and paid about $ 2500 cash for it.

When I was given the delivery guy hit one of the sections on the truck and put a 6-inch scratch on the back of one of the sections. His response was "well, at least his face up." After about a week (just any use) the seams started splitting where they were glued together. I fixed the share myself, while trying to be excited about furniture that I have worked so hard to pay. After about 2 years of taking care of the "leather" as taught, each section began to peel.

The leather was only spending in large pieces. Whenever I wanted to get off the couch, I have this peeling material stuck all over me. I was exceptionally embarasanta when I have guests over and had to brush the material out of his back them up. I bought the 7 year warranty.

After I submitted a claim, I was contacted immediately and said "if you would read your warranty more carefully you would see that it does not cover peeling". I told them that I had a leather couch before that I had for almost 20 years and it never peeled or cracked at all. I felt absolutely sick over the matter. I might as well just take $ 2500 and lit it on fire.Such disappointment.

Value city furniture commercial-gagging

Anastasia Beaverhausen One of the worst commercials EVER. And that's saying a lot. Really, I have to change the channel or mute it every time it comes on. Disgusting and obnoxious for sure. Certainly doesn't make me want to buy anything from them.
